About Due West

Early History

Due West Elementary In 1960, the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church bought 10 acres of land in rural West Cobb County. The first service of Due West United Methodist Church was held on July 8, 1973 in the Due West Elementary School lunchroom.

There were 158 people in attendance and 21 people joined the church that Sunday.

South Campus South Campus

The church began growing briskly, and the need for a dedicated building quickly became apparent. Groundbreaking services for the first phase of the building program were held on June 23, 1974.

We held our first service in our own building on October 19, 1975. That building, now called "South Campus," remains in use today.

As the congregation continued to grow, plans were made and executed for a new worship facility which was completed in November, 1995.

Family Life Center Family Life Center

We opened our Family Life Center in 2004. The FLC hosts the 9:39 contemporary service as well as provides additional space for weekly dinners and sports programs.

North Campus North Campus

In 2005, we purchased the adjacent church property to allow for additional space in our 8:30 and 11:00 traditional services, thus adding the "North Campus" facility in use for those services today.

A second contemporary service was added in 2006 at 11:00 am in the original (South Campus) building on Due West Road.

Our average attendance on a weekly basis at all four services is 1400.

As you prayerfully consider a church home to unite with, we invited you to find out what we believe. Over the last 35 years our staff has grown to meet the needs of our community. Since 1996, Dr. Tom Davis, a Marietta native, has served as our Senior Pastor.

We are excited about all that God has in store for the days ahead and hope that you will be a part of it.
