DiscipleLife

DiscipleLife encourages you to "Make Disciples out of Followers and Followers out of Wanderers."  Being a Disciple of Christ is a lifestyle which takes time and practice.  At Due West we want to provide opportunities for you to practice discipleship.  The group studies provided help move us into a loving relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We encourage you to join a DiscipleLife group and move toward maturity in Christ.

WINGS (Women In New Growing Spirit)
2013 Bible Studies

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

There is an enormous amount of strength that women gather from being around other women. It is a blessing to have the love, support and council of women on the same faith journey. Our ministry offers fellowship groups, Bible studies, retreats and more. The Bible studies are offered throughout the year with our main sessions offered in the spring and fall.

Thursday Bible Studies

Beginning March 7th
7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess
by Jen Hatmaker
(9:30 - 11:30 am in S232)
Do you feel trapped in the machine of excess? Jen Hatmaker was. Her friends were. And some might say that our culture is. Jen once considered herself unmotivated by the lure of prosperity, but upon being called 'rich' by a child who was living in poverty, evidence to the contrary mounted, and a social experiment turned spiritual journey was born. This study will lead you through this same experiment, at whatever level you choose, in seven key areas: food, clothes, spending, media, possessions, waste, and stress.  What's the payoff for living such a deeply reduced life? It's the discovery of a greatly increased God a call toward Christ-like simplicity and generosity that transcends a social experiment to become a radically better existence.
Leader: Cathy Thomas

Gideon: Your weakness. God's strength
by Priscilla Shirer
(6:30 - 8:30 pm in the Gathering Room)
A 6 week workbook / DVD bible study
Books will be available that night for purchase for $13.00.
When we hear the name Gideon, most of us think about his 300 soldiers or the fleece he laid out under the evening sky.  But Gideon's story is so much bigger than that—bigger than any one man and his mark on Israel's history.  This study will encourage you to recognize your weakness as the key that the Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life.
