Men's Ministries

The mission of the Due West United Methodist Men is to provide a dedicated ministy for building men spiritually and involving them in the total ministry of our Church.

To accomplish this mission:

1. It will create a supportive fellowship of men who:

• Seek personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Desire to grow spiritually and to seek His daily will
• Will encourage new members through active recruitment
• Will seek to meet the individual needs of all its members

2. It will create a conduit to:

• Reach out to the men of the church to support their daily living, joys, concerns, trials and tribulation
• Support the physical and spiritual needs of the church

3. It will reach out to the surrounding community by sharing the fullness of the gospel in its personal and social dimensions.

Monthly Meetings

What - Guest Speakers, Breakfast ($ 4.00) and Fellowship
When - The second Sunday of each month at 7:00 AM
Where - Family Life Center
Who - There is no membership or requirement for you to attend. We are an open Fellowship of men seeking to know Jesus and to share our lives with other Christians.
Why -
1. We love Jesus,
2. We love to eat,
3. We love to spend time with other men who share our beliefs.

Monthly Breakfast Meetings

Our November Breakfast Meeting is Sunday, November 9th at 7:00 am in the Family Life Center.

Weekly Accountability Meetings

Join men for a time each week for encouragement and prayer as they grow together in faith. There are several groups to choose from.

Smoked and Fried Turkeys

Reserve Your Smoked or Deep Fried Turkey for your Thanksgiving Dinner
Cost $30

Reservation cards are located throughout the church on Information Tables and in the church pews on Sunday morning. Please fill one out and place it in the offering plate during the November 9th, 16th or 23rd worship service or place it in the UMM Mailbox located in ADMIN II. Pick up will be on Tuesday, November 25th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm or Wednesday, November 26th between 9:00 am & 5:00 pm.

Murphy-Harpst Dinner

Saturday, December 13th
6:30 pm
Family Life Center

For over 20 years the United Methodist Men have sponsored a Christmas dinner for the Murphy-Harpst Children's Home. These kids and the home need all our support. The dinner is free, we only ask for a donation, which will go directly to the Murphy-Harpst Children's Home. The Cool Note Jazz ensemble will provide entertainment and the after dinner speaker will be Dr. Alan Hunt.

United Methodist Men's 2009 Men's Retreat
February 6 -8

The Due West 2009 Men's retreat planning is underway! The retreat will be held on February 6th-8th at Camp Glisson in Dahlonega, GA. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Jim Lowry, our new District Superintendent. Dr. Lowry has also taught many workshops at past Rock Eagle retreats. Watch for more specific information coming soon!
