Due West UMCDue West UMC

T.L.C.

If you've ever found yourself in crisis, you know firsthand you need support. Support can come in many different ways - from a simple meal, to extra prayer or even long-term care after a loss. Listed below are some of those opportunities for caring for others at Due West.

Comfort Meals

This is a group contacted via email when there is a death within our church family. They each prepare a meal or a dish to be taken to the family's home during this difficult time. If the family is holding the funeral at our church they also prepare small snacks to be provided for the family before the funeral in the Gathering Room.

Healing Meals (Sickness & Hospitalized)

This is a group also contacted via email when there is someone coming home from being hospitalized, sometimes for family of a person who is in the hospital, or for those who are seriously ill and at home. Meals are prepared usually on a round (depending upon what is needed) of every other day, or twice a week, etc. and carried to those in need.

Baskets of Blessings

Baskets are prepared and dropped off to those coming home to recuperate from hospitalization or those who will be down for a while.

Cancer Care Binders

This team meets to assemble and deliver (when needed) binders for cancer patients. The binders are intended to be carried to the many doctor's appointments and hospital visits that cancer patients must attend. They hold all important paperwork, documents, phone numbers, etc. that are always needed at any and all appointments.
