Habitat for Humanity

For our 4th year Due West Methodist Church will be working with the Cobb Interfaith Habitat Coalition to provide volunteers and funds to help support Habitat For Humanity. We are looking for donations to support this Mission effort. Our goal is to raise $7100 to support the construction costs.

Please prayerfully consider donating online or submitting a check to Due West Methodist Church with Habitat For Humanity in the comment line.

What Makes a Habitat Homeowner?

Our homeowners work hard, and usually for many years to earn the privilege of being a Habitat homeowner. Many work multiple jobs and live in substandard housing. And once a homeowner applicant is approved, part of their requirements to become a Habitat homeowner include completing 100 hours of financial education courses, and 200 hours of sweat equity helping to build their own home alongside volunteers for nine weeks. Once they take ownership, they pay a monthly mortgage, utilities, and all that goes with homeownership, except their mortgage has 0% interest and is paid directly to Habitat.
